INAUGURATION GIRLS’ BUILDING

“ Namens het bestuur van Stichting Children of Durgapur Nederland is deze brief naar het bestuur van Avilash gestuurd om hen te feliciteren met de opening van het meisjes hostel”.

 

Dear Board of Avilash, Sandip, Hasi,
Bithi, Priyabandhu, Kalyan, Shyama, Shantimoy, Namita, Bhabani,
Dipak, Promit, Karabi, Sajal, Amiya, Sanchita, Amalendu,
Sekender, Prasanta, Kakoli, Prasanta, Pampa, Sunanda,
Suchanda, Karabi, Rita, Sourav, Srikanta, Jalpana, Mita,
Modhumita, Bharati, Arati, Rupa (the most important: food!),
Jhuma, Rasona, Sanjoy, Chandan, Bijoy, Debika
and all the children of the campus:

Our garden is in mourning now, because all the leaves are gone  and the birds craving for spring, new spring, light and warmth, hope and food.
All of you are continually providing all these items for the children of Durgapur.  And thanks to the Danish, the lobbying board of ICWS and especially the financial input, mental support and concrete suggestions of some engineers of the organization “Engineers Without Borders”, a new building for the girls in Malandighi has arisen and will be giving them the light and warmth they need for many more years to come. It goes without saying, that this building could only come off the ground thanks to the efforts and sometimes strain of Mr. Sandip Chatterjee, who acted as sort of overseeing manager of all activities in this new building’s field, as well as the perseverance of the board of Avilash and the whole team on the spot.

That’s the hell of a job and it needs a lot of perseverance, will power and patience.
We, the people from Holland, are very sorry not to be able to attend to this inauguration and cannot come to India this very year, but we will  certainly be coming to Malandighi by the end of October next year (2015), with a group of 14 people!
We, the Dutch sponsors, are very proud of being able to participate morally and also a bit financially in Avilash’s ideals: the mental side is growing every day in enthusiasm for your good work, whereas the financial side is gradually diminishing, like Dutch economy.
